Applications for Boys and Girls State have arrived in Guidance. Current juniors interested in attending should pick up an information packet and application soon. What are Boys and Girls State? They are six day experiential opportunities intended to further the education of young adults in the concepts of state government. Each year Rice nominates juniors to this program, which, this year will occur from June 20-25, 2010 (Boys State will be held at Lyndon State College, Girls State at Castleton State College).
Students interested in developing citizenship and leadership skills, as well as those interested in the workings of state government should apply. Packets are available from Mr. LaCroix in Guidance. Application for Girls State must be returned to Guidance by Friday, April 10th. Applications for Boys State must be returned to Guidance by Monday, April 12th.
