As a result of the Rice Scholars Bowl team’s fourth place finish at Friday’s competition, they have achieved qualification for the NAQT national tournament. Congratulations to you and your students.
The usual policy is that the top 15 percent of the field qualifies (so three teams from a field of 18 like we had on Friday). But because the top three had all qualified before, they have extended a bid to the Rice team as the highest finisher that hadn’t previously qualified.
We will be receiving a formal invitation from NAQT sometime soon and at that time we will post more information about this achievement!
